What Is AtiEdgeSwitch-MIB?

AtiEdgeSwitch-MIB is a large Allied Telesis enterprise MIB covering configuration and monitoring for the AT-9000, AT-8100S/L, and AT-FS970M edge switch families. It defines atiStkSwPortConfigTable and atiStkSwVlanConfigTable for per-port and per-VLAN configuration, atiStkSwEthPortMonTable and atiStkSwEthPortErrTable for Ethernet port monitoring and error counters, an atiStkSwACLConfigTable for access-control-list rules, QoS objects (atiStkSwQosStatusTable, atiStkSwQosInterfaceDetailsTable, atiAQosCosQueueMapTable) for class-of-service queue mapping and interface QoS status, and LLDP-MED location and remote-device tables (atiStkSwLldpMedLocTable, atiStkSwLldpMedRemTable) alongside additional DHCP server and loop-protection tables added in later revisions. This breadth gives operators a single vendor MIB to check port and VLAN configuration, spanning-tree/loop protection, ACL enforcement, QoS queue behavior, Ethernet error counters, and LLDP-MED neighbor/location data on Allied Telesis edge switches. It is largely self-contained with its own textual conventions and does not depend heavily on external standard MIBs beyond the usual SNMPv2-SMI/TC/CONF imports, and is deployed on the AT-9000/8100S/8100L/FS970M switch lines in enterprise access-layer and PoE deployments. Network admins standing up these switches typically start with an AtiEdgeSwitch-MIB download to import the full vendor object tree at once.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AtiEdgeSwitch-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls atiStkSwEthPortErrTable for a given port to check for rising CRC or collision error counts, then cross-references atiStkSwPortConfigTable and atiStkSwVlanConfigTable to confirm the port's VLAN and duplex settings match the intended design; a mismatch combined with climbing error counters would point to a duplex mismatch or cabling fault on that edge port.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using atiStkSwLldpStatsTotalFramesOut OID:

Select an Allied Telesis AT-9000/AT-8100S/AT-8100L/AT-FS970M edge switch (legacy) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type atiStkSwLldpStatsTotalFramesOut into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. The number of LLDP frames transmitted by this LLDP agent. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline, since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
