Description: Manages ADTRAN TSU IQ T1/FT1 service units with integrated quality monitoring capabilities.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ADTRAN-TSUIQ-MIB?
ADTRAN-TSUIQ-MIB is an ADTRAN vendor MIB for the TSU IQ, a T1/Fractional T1 (FT1) terminal/service unit with integrated quality-monitoring circuitry used to terminate leased-line data circuits. It primarily exposes device configuration objects -- management IP addressing, gateway, trap-manager destination (including DLCI and port for frame-relay-delivered traps), console port baud rate and mode, and system password/date/time -- rather than deep line-quality counters in the sampled data. Its monitoring relevance lies in confirming the unit's management reachability and trap-delivery path are correctly configured, and, as an "IQ" (integrated quality) unit, in the broader product line's ability to report circuit quality and alarm conditions back to a management station via those configured trap destinations. No dependency on external standard MIBs is evident from the available definitions. It would be deployed at customer or network sites terminating T1/FT1 circuits where centralized SNMP trap monitoring of the unit's configuration and link quality is required, and technicians can download the ADTRAN-TSUIQ-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-TSUIQ-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ADTRAN TSU IQ T1/FT1 terminal/service unit
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would set adTSUIQIpAddress, adTSUIQIpAddressMask, and adTSUIQGatewayIpAddress to establish management access to the unit. adTSUIQTrapManagerIpAddress, along with adTSUIQTrapManagerDLCI and adTSUIQTrapManagerPort, would then be configured so trap notifications reach the NMS over the correct frame-relay path. adTSUIQEnableTraps would be checked to confirm traps are actually turned on, and adTSUIQTOD/adTSUIQDate would be read to verify the unit's clock is synchronized for accurate event timestamps.
What Can Be Monitored
- management IP address/mask/gateway configuration
- trap destination IP/DLCI/port
- trap enable status
- control/console port baud rate and mode
- time-of-day and date
