What Is ADTRAN-MIB?
ADTRAN-MIB is the root enterprise MIB module for ADTRAN, Inc., a maker of business/carrier networking, access, and telephony equipment, defining the base OID subtree and product-registration objects under which all other ADTRAN device MIBs register. Beyond its conformance-related groupings (adCompliances, adMIBGroups), it carries no interface, environment, performance, or fault data of its own; anyone performing an ADTRAN-MIB download should expect no such objects, since the module exists purely to establish the root OID hierarchy other ADTRAN modules build upon. It is not used to directly monitor uptime, temperature, CPU/memory load, power/fan health, or software version — those metrics are exposed by the specific ADTRAN product MIBs (for routers, switches, or access devices) that register under this root OID tree. Every ADTRAN product-specific MIB module structurally depends on this root module. It functions purely as a foundational/dependency MIB loaded alongside the actual ADTRAN device MIBs when managing ADTRAN network equipment.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ADTRAN SDG 9000 Series (2025) — Wi-Fi 7 service delivery gateways for residential/MDU broadband
- ADTRAN SDG 8700 Series (2023) — Wi-Fi 7 residential gateway/mesh line, e.g. SDG 8734v
Monitoring Examples
The available sample_objects (adCompliances, adMIBGroups) are conformance/grouping nodes used to define compliance statements for other ADTRAN MIBs, not runtime data to poll. There is no monitoring scenario intrinsic to this root module; an admin would query the specific ADTRAN product MIB (e.g., for a particular router or access device) registered beneath this OID tree.

| PHY adProdPhysAddress | 1.3.6.1.4.1.664.3.1.7 | PhysAddress | read-only | This octet string variable contains the Adtran Physical Address assigned to this product. For example, the octet sequence 16 02 03 01 specifies bank/shelf number 22 (hex 16), group number 2, slot number 3, unit/port 1. This object value is commonly reported in SNMP Traps to identify the product's location. |
| OID adProdProductID | 1.3.6.1.4.1.664.3.1.8 | OBJECT IDENTIFIER | read-only | The Adtran Product ID as reported via sysObjectID. Note: In the proprietary ASP protocol, the product reports only its product type number as an octet string. |
| STR adProdTransType | 1.3.6.1.4.1.664.3.1.9 | DisplayString | read-only | The data transmission circuit/facility/payload level of the device (see Appendix A of GR-833-CORE). Common examples are: T0, T1, T2, T3, STS1, and OC3. For the SCU and other common equipment cards, the code should be EQPT. |
