Description: Manages SIP proxy server configuration and registration state on ADTRAN AOS devices for VoIP call routing.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ADTRAN-AOS-SIP-PROXY-MIB?
This MIB module is part of ADTRAN's AOS platform and manages SIP proxy server configuration and registration/rollover state for VoIP call routing on AOS voice-enabled devices. It exposes data about the currently active SIP proxy/registrar server, rollover events between primary and backup proxy servers, and the cause and timing of such rollovers. Rather than physical hardware, this MIB monitors the software/service health of the SIP signaling path -- administrators can detect when a device has failed over from its primary SIP proxy to a backup, which server address it rolled over from/to, and why, indicating a VoIP service disruption or registrar unreachability. It resides in ADTRAN's AOS enterprise MIB tree and depends on standard INET-ADDRESS-MIB textual conventions for representing server addresses. It is typically deployed on ADTRAN integrated access devices (IADs) and voice gateways providing SIP trunking or hosted VoIP service to a site. Engineers can download the ADTRAN-AOS-SIP-PROXY-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-AOS-SIP-PROXY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ADTRAN AOS integrated access device (IAD)/VoIP gateway
Monitoring Examples
An admin monitoring adProxyRolloverFromServerInetAddress and adProxyRolloverToServerInetAddress alongside adProxyRolloverCause and adProxyTimestamp could determine that the device failed over from its primary SIP proxy to a secondary one, at what time, and for what reason (such as a timeout or unreachable server). Frequent rollover events logged via adSipProxyTraps would indicate an unstable SIP trunk or proxy server, warranting escalation to the VoIP service provider.
What Can Be Monitored
- active SIP proxy server address
- proxy rollover from/to address
- proxy rollover cause
- proxy rollover timestamp
- SIP proxy trap notifications
