Description: Manages firmware and configuration file download operations on ADTRAN AOS devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ADTRAN-AOSDOWNLOAD?

This is an ADTRAN private enterprise MIB for AOS (ADTRAN Operating System) devices — routers and switches in ADTRAN's NetVanta/Total Access product lines — that models remote firmware and configuration file transfer. It exposes action/configuration objects for initiating a TFTP-based download or upload of firmware images or configuration files, along with parameters like server address, file name, and transfer type, plus the status of the in-progress operation. Its monitoring value is centered on software status: an administrator uses it to track whether a firmware upgrade or configuration push has started, is in progress, succeeded, or failed, which is essential during fleet-wide software version management. It complements ADTRAN's other AOS private MIBs (such as system and interface MIBs) but has no dependency on external standards MIBs beyond basic SNMP SMI conventions. It is deployed on ADTRAN AOS-based routers and switches in enterprise WAN and branch-office environments where firmware/config is pushed centrally via TFTP.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-AOSDOWNLOAD. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ADTRAN AOS router/switch (NetVanta, Total Access series)

Monitoring Examples

No sample_objects were supplied, but per its description this module models commands to trigger a TFTP download/upload of firmware or configuration to/from an ADTRAN AOS device; a realistic scenario is polling a transfer-status object after initiating an ADTRAN-AOSDOWNLOAD download of firmware to confirm the operation completed rather than stalling or failing mid-transfer.

What Can Be Monitored

  • firmware/config download or upload operation status
  • TFTP server address used for transfer
  • transfer file type (firmware vs configuration)
