What Is ADTRAN-MEF-PER-UNI-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB?

ADTRAN-MEF-PER-UNI-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB is an ADTRAN Inc. proprietary MIB reporting high-capacity, color-marked (MEF-style green/yellow/red) traffic totals per UNI (User-Network Interface) on the ADTRAN AOS platform. Its table, keyed by interface, records total ingress green octets/frames, total ingress yellow octets/frames, and total ingress red frames. As a performance MIB it lets an administrator watch how much traffic at a UNI is conforming (green), exceeding (yellow), or violating (red) its committed rate under a MEF Carrier Ethernet service. It is deployed on ADTRAN AOS platforms. Engineers can download the ADTRAN-MEF-PER-UNI-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-MEF-PER-UNI-TOTAL-COUNT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ADTRAN AOS platforms (MEF Carrier Ethernet UNI)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors adMefPerUniTotalIngressRedFrames to catch a UNI where traffic is significantly exceeding its committed MEF service rate on an ADTRAN AOS platform.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-UNI green/yellow/red traffic totals
