Category: Wellfleet BayNetworks System Management
Description: Defines Wellfleet circuit configuration options including line parameters and protocol encapsulation settings.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Wellfleet-CCTOPTS-MIB?
This is a vendor-specific proprietary MIB from Wellfleet Communications (later Bay Networks/Nortel) defining circuit configuration options for its multiprotocol routers, including per-circuit line parameters and protocol encapsulation settings. It is primarily a configuration MIB rather than a counter MIB, exposing how each WAN or LAN circuit is provisioned at the link layer. It supports software status monitoring in that the configured encapsulation and line parameters determine whether a circuit can establish and maintain protocol-level connectivity, so mismatches here are a common root cause of circuits that are physically up but functionally down. It is part of Wellfleet's broader proprietary circuit ('wfCct') MIB hierarchy and depends on that base circuit addressing scheme rather than any external standard. It is typically deployed alongside other Wellfleet circuit-level MIBs on routers terminating serial, Frame Relay, or leased-line WAN circuits. Engineers can download the Wellfleet-CCTOPTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Wellfleet-CCTOPTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Wellfleet/Bay Networks multiprotocol routers with WAN circuit interfaces
Monitoring Examples
No sample_objects were provided for this module; based on the short_desc, an operator would review the circuit's configured encapsulation type and line parameters (e.g., clocking, framing) against the expected values for the far-end device. A circuit reporting physical line-up but failing to pass traffic often traces back to an encapsulation mismatch (e.g., HDLC vs. Frame Relay) visible in this MIB's configuration objects.
What Can Be Monitored
- circuit line parameter configuration
- protocol encapsulation type
- circuit enable/disable status

For example, setting wfCctOptsCngcLogPower to a value of 10 means that a log message will be logged once every 1024 occurances. 1024 = (2 ^ wfCctOptsCngcLogPower) or (2 raised to 10th power). Legal values for this attribute ranges from 10 to 31. This translates to 2^10 (1024) through 2^31 (2147483648). Default: 2^31. |

RFC description
Circuit options MIB for Wellfleet routers providing priority queue management and traffic shaping configuration.
Start monitoring Wellfleet/Bay Networks multiprotocol routers with WAN circuit interfaces (line/encapsulation config status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
