Category: Wellfleet BayNetworks System Management
Description: Manages Wellfleet interface policy parameters including traffic shaping and queuing configurations.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Wellfleet-IFP-MIB?
This is a legacy enterprise MIB from Wellfleet Communications (a router vendor later merged into Bay Networks/Nortel) covering "IFP," or interface policy, parameters such as traffic shaping and queuing configuration on Wellfleet routers. No module description or sample object list is available for this module, so specifics of its object tree can't be confirmed, but by name it is expected to expose per-interface QoS/queuing configuration rather than hardware sensor data. In general such interface-policy MIBs are used to monitor and adjust how traffic is scheduled and shaped on a router interface, which indirectly reflects device performance under load. It likely depends on the base Wellfleet enterprise MIB tree and standard IF-MIB interface indexing conventions typical of routers from that era. It would have been deployed on legacy Wellfleet/Bay Networks routers in enterprise WAN environments during the 1990s. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the Wellfleet-IFP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Wellfleet-IFP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Wellfleet Communications routers (legacy, later Bay Networks/Nortel)
Monitoring Examples
No module description or sample object names are provided for this MIB, so no verified table or object names are available to describe a concrete polling scenario; any specific object names would be speculative.
What Can Be Monitored
- interface traffic shaping settings
- queuing policy configuration
- per-interface policy assignment

RFC description
Monitors Internet Forwarding Processor (IFP) configurations, buffer management, and queue parameters on Wellfleet devices.
Start monitoring Wellfleet Communications routers, legacy, later Bay Networks/Nortel (interface traffic-shaping/queuing config status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
