Description: Manages NAG SNR-ERD-3 environmental relay device sensor readings, relay outputs, and alarm thresholds.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SNR-ERD-3?

SNR-ERD-3 is a vendor-specific MIB for the NAG SNR-ERD environmental relay device (model ERD-3), a small appliance used to monitor environmental sensors and control relay outputs at a remote site. It exposes IP networking configuration (address, gateway, trap destination) alongside sensor-monitoring inputs, remote relay/contact control objects, and alarm counters for both reset events and general alarm occurrences. Its monitoring focus is squarely on facility/hardware-fault status: it tracks discrete sensor contacts and alarm-signal contacts, letting an operator see whether an environmental condition such as a door open, water leak, or smoke event has tripped a monitored contact, and can also trigger a remote relay/contact as a corrective action. It appears to be a self-contained proprietary MIB with no apparent dependency on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMP. It is typically deployed at unmanned/remote telecom or network sites (cabinets, huts, data closets) where dry-contact environmental sensors need to be monitored and simple relay actions triggered remotely. Engineers can download the SNR-ERD-3 file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SNR-ERD-3. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NAG SNR-ERD-3 environmental relay/monitoring device

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll monitorAlarmSignal1Contact5 and monitorAlarmSignal2Contact6, along with monitorAnySensorSignal1contact2 and monitorAnySensorSignal2contact3, to see whether any environmental sensor contact has tripped, and check numberOfAlarmPositives for a running count of alarm events. If a fault needs to be cleared remotely, the operator could activate resetSmartContact7 or remoteControlContact8 and then verify the change via numberOfResetPositives. The ipAddressEntry/ipMonitoringDevice objects confirm which remote unit is reporting, and ipForTrap shows where its SNMP traps are sent. A rising numberOfAlarmPositives count without a corresponding reset would indicate an ongoing unresolved environmental fault at the remote site.

What Can Be Monitored

  • environmental sensor contact status
  • alarm signal contact status
  • alarm event count
  • relay/contact control state
  • reset event count
  • trap destination configuration
