Description: Intel SCAnet proprietary WAN bridging extension MIB for IP/IPX bridging control and STP statistics on Intel WAN bridge/router devices

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SCA-WBR-MIB?

SCA-WBR-MIB is a private MIB (built on SCANET-MIB) reporting wireless bridge (WBR) status, including spanning-tree behavior and BPDU-spoofing detection/countermeasures. Its objects cover last-config-change time, IP/IPX bridging enable flags, STP ageing time and root-bridge flag, and counts of received/transmitted BPDUs, failed BPDU transmissions, and spoofed BPDU received/transmitted/failed/data counts, with a per-interface table breaking down the same plus protocol-byte counters. As a configuration/security-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm the bridge isn't the root (as expected in a wireless-bridge deployment) and watch for BPDU-spoofing activity, a defense against wireless bridging loops/attacks. It is deployed on this vendor's wireless bridge equipment. Engineers can download the SCA-WBR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SCA-WBR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Wireless bridge equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors wbrStpTxSpoofBPDUs to confirm anti-spoofing BPDU countermeasures are actively engaging on a wireless bridge, a sign the link is defending against a potential loop or attack.
