Description: HP ICF SNMP MIB for IEEE 802.12 100VG-AnyLAN repeater management on HP ProCurve voice-grade concentrators.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HP-ICF-VG-RPTR?

HP-ICF-VG-RPTR provides Hewlett-Packard-specific extensions to the standard IEEE 802.12 Repeater MIB for 100VG-AnyLAN repeaters/concentrators, an HP-championed legacy voice-grade LAN technology. It exposes port and repeater-level configuration and statistics for this now-obsolete 100VG-AnyLAN hub/repeater hardware. Its monitoring relevance is chiefly hardware/link status — port link state, repeater health, and traffic counters on legacy voice-grade concentrator hardware. It explicitly extends the standard 802.12 Repeater MIB, layering HP-specific objects on top of that IEEE-defined base. It would have been deployed in legacy HP voice-grade LAN installations from the 1990s, where HP-ICF-VG-RPTR SNMP monitoring is now of primarily historical/legacy-equipment interest.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HP-ICF-VG-RPTR. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP 100VG-AnyLAN repeater/concentrator (legacy)

Monitoring Examples

No concrete object names were present in the sampled source beyond the module's stated purpose, so specifics cannot be confirmed here. In combination with the base 802.12 Repeater MIB, such extensions would typically be used to poll per-port link and error-counter objects on a 100VG-AnyLAN repeater to detect a failed or degraded port on this legacy concentrator hardware.

What Can Be Monitored

  • repeater port link status
  • port traffic/error counters
  • repeater operational status
