HP-SN-ROOT-MIB is an HP MIB rooted in the Foundry-heritage "SN" chassis architecture, used for managing HP's Foundry/Brocade-derived switch-router (SN) product family. It exposes physical chassis inventory and environmental health data, including chassis type and serial number, main and expansion board descriptions, and port totals, alongside hardware health indicators for power supplies and fans. It is squarely focused on monitoring hardware status: power supply status, fan status, and status/traffic/media LED indicators give a direct picture of chassis health, while configurable trap-enable objects (e.g. for power supply failures) drive fault notifications to a management station.
