Description: Dell Force10 MIB for IS-IS routing protocol management and statistics on Dell Force10/FTOS networking platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is F10-ISIS-MIB?
F10-ISIS-MIB is a Dell Force10/FTOS proprietary MIB for managing and monitoring the IS-IS routing protocol on Dell Networking OS switches and routers. It exposes configuration and status objects for IS-IS overload behavior (both IPv4 and IPv6), including system-wide overload-set controls and per-level overload state in a level table, plus notifications for protocol events. Its monitoring value is squarely software/protocol status: administrators track whether a router is in overload state (signaling it should be routed around) and per-IS-IS-level operational state rather than any physical hardware sensor. As an IS-IS implementation it depends conceptually on the ISO 10589 IS-IS standard and interoperates with standard IS-IS MIB concepts, though it is Dell's own object tree. It is deployed in Dell Force10/FTOS-based core and data-center networks running IS-IS as the IGP. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the F10-ISIS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in F10-ISIS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Dell Force10 switches
- Dell Networking OS (FTOS) routers
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll f10IsisSysLevelTable/f10IsisSysLevelEntry, keyed by f10IsisSysLevelIndex, to check f10IsisSysLevelOverloadState and f10IsisSysLevelV6OverloadState for each IS-IS level on the router. Seeing an overload state unexpectedly set (or the f10IsisSysOloadSetOverload flag enabled) after a reload would explain why the router is being avoided for transit traffic even though its interfaces are up. The f10IsisSysOloadWaitForBgp and f10IsisSysOloadSetOloadOnStartupUntil objects would be checked to confirm whether overload-on-startup timing is behaving as configured.
What Can Be Monitored
- IS-IS overload state (IPv4 and IPv6)
- overload-on-startup timer
- wait-for-BGP overload behavior
- per-level IS-IS state
