What Is DKSF-50-11-X-X-X?

DKSF-50-11-X-X-X is an Alentis Electronics proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 25728, generic NetPing product line) for remote sensing/control including power-reset and thermal monitoring. Its objects cover a trap-email-to address, a power-channel table (channel number, start-reset action, manual-mode flag, resets counter, repeating-resets counter, memo), a thermal-sensor table (sensor number, value, status, low/high thresholds, memo), thermal-trap configuration objects, a thermal-trap notification, and an I/O table. As a status/configuration MIB it lets an administrator watch temperature thresholds and remote power-reset activity, and get alerted on threshold breaches, on an Alentis NetPing device. It is deployed on Alentis Electronics NetPing remote sensing/control devices. Engineers can download the DKSF-50-11-X-X-X file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using npIoPulseCounter OID:

Select an Alentis Electronics NetPing remote sensing/control device as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type npIoPulseCounter into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. It reports the pulse Counter on IO input line (counts positive fronts) Write 0 to reset. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline, since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
