What Is DKSF-50-8-1-A-X?

This is a generic NetPing MIB (used by the DKSF-50-8-1-A-X firmware variant) for remote sensing and control devices that combine IP-based power/relay control with environmental sensors. It exposes a power/relay control table for managing reset/reboot channels and a thermometer table for temperature sensor readings, alongside counters tracking how often resets have occurred. As a monitoring module it directly supports hardware status monitoring: tracking ambient/cabinet temperature via its thermal sensor inputs, and tracking the power-cycling behavior (manual mode, reset counts) of whatever equipment is plugged into its controlled outlets. It defines its own private object structure (npPwr, npThermo, lightcom) without an evident dependency on other standard MIBs beyond generic SNMP conventions. Monitoring Examples

Polling npThermoTable entries -- npThermoSensorN and npThermoValue -- lets an administrator track cabinet or ambient temperature per sensor channel and catch a cooling failure before it damages equipment. Separately, npPwrTable exposes per-channel control (npPwrChannelN, npPwrManualMode, npPwrStartReset) and reset counters (npPwrResetsCounter, npPwrRepeatingResetsCounter); a rapidly climbing npPwrRepeatingResetsCounter would indicate a connected device stuck in a boot loop that the NetPing unit keeps power-cycling.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using npRelHumSensorStatus OID:

Select a NetPing DKSF-50 IP-based remote power/relay and sensor controller as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type npRelHumSensorStatus into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. Status of the Rel.Humidity Sensor One 0=Normal, 1=Error or Sensor isn't connected. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is anything other than 'ok', since that indicates the condition this object reports has changed to one worth investigating. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
