Description: Gude ETS MIB for managing Ethernet terminal servers with power control and sensor integration.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is GUDEADS-ETS-MIB?
GUDEADS-ETS-MIB is a Gude Analog- und Digitalsysteme proprietary MIB for its Ethernet Terminal Server (ETS) product line, remote-access serial-console/power-control devices used to manage other equipment in a data center or remote site. It exposes trap-destination configuration (IP/port for SNMP trap receivers), power-source status/selection (primary and secondary power availability and manual power-source selection), and SNMP access control settings. This is directly a hardware-status MIB for power monitoring: etsPrimPowAvail and etsSecPowAvail report whether primary and secondary (redundant) power feeds are currently present, and etsPowerSelect/etsSecManualSelect reveal which power source is active or has been manually forced, letting an operator detect a primary power loss (failover to secondary) at a remote site before it becomes a full outage. It has no stated dependency on other MIBs; the trap configuration works with standard SNMP trap delivery mechanisms. Typical deployment context is a Gude ETS remote console/power-switch unit installed in a rack at a remote or unmanned site, giving out-of-band access and dual-power monitoring for critical equipment. Engineers can download the GUDEADS-ETS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in GUDEADS-ETS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Gude ADS Ethernet Terminal Server (ETS) remote console/power-control units
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll etsPrimPowAvail and etsSecPowAvail on a remote Gude ETS unit to confirm both power feeds are present, and check etsPowerSelect to see which source is actively feeding the unit — a change to the secondary source when etsSecManualSelect wasn't intentionally set indicates a primary power failure at that site. etsTrapIPTable/etsTrapIPEntry, keyed by etsTrapIPIndex with etsTrapIPAddr and etsTrapIPPort, would be checked to confirm alerts like a power-loss trap are configured to reach the correct NMS. etsSNMPaccess confirms whether SNMP management access itself is currently enabled on the device, relevant when troubleshooting a device that has stopped responding to polls.
What Can Be Monitored
- primary power availability
- secondary power availability
- active power source selection
- manual power source override state
- trap destination configuration
- SNMP access enable state
