What Is ZHONE-GEN-VOICESTAT?

ZHONE-GEN-VOICESTAT is a Zhone Technologies MIB for voice-over-broadband call statistics on Zhone access/gateway platforms carrying VoIP or TDM voice services. It exposes performance-counter data: call attempt counts, call completion counts, and call-quality metrics, organized into tables at the system, card, and subscriber-endpoint levels for incoming, outgoing, and active calls. As a performance/statistics MIB it monitors the software-level health of the voice service itself -- trending call completion versus attempt ratios and quality metrics reveals degraded voice service software or subscriber-line problems even when hardware appears fine. It likely complements standard telephony/voice MIBs or Zhone's own line-card MIBs for a full picture of voice service health. It is typically deployed on Zhone integrated access devices (IADs) and DSLAM/gateway platforms delivering voice services to subscribers. Engineers can download the ZHONE-GEN-VOICESTAT file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZHONE-GEN-VOICESTAT. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Zhone integrated access devices (IADs)
  • Zhone voice-enabled DSLAM/gateway platforms

Monitoring Examples

Based on the module_desc, an admin would poll per-card or per-subscriber-endpoint call statistics tables to compare call attempts against completions for incoming/outgoing/active calls; a rising rate of attempted-but-not-completed calls on a specific card would point to a voice-processing or trunk capacity problem on that card.

What Can Be Monitored

  • call attempt counts
  • call completion counts
  • voice call quality metrics
  • per-subscriber call statistics
  • active call counts
