Category: Zhone Technologies CPE and Access

Description: Provides Zhone Technologies enterprise OID registration and top-level SMI structure for all Zhone MIBs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Zhone?

The Zhone MIB is the root enterprise SMI module for Zhone Technologies (a broadband access equipment vendor), establishing the top-level OID hierarchy shared across all Zhone platform-specific MIBs. It belongs to the broadband/access networking equipment category and serves purely as an organizational registration point rather than a source of monitorable data. As a root SMI module it exposes no interfaces, environmental readings, or fault objects itself, so it cannot be used to check hardware or software status directly. Every Zhone product-line MIB (DSL, PON, or multi-service access platforms) depends on this module to anchor its object identifiers in the enterprise tree, so tracing any Zhone OID back far enough always leads to this single registration root. It is deployed only as a compile-time dependency in networks using Zhone broadband access equipment.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Zhone. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Zhone Technologies broadband access equipment (DSL/PON/multi-service platforms)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines no runtime sample objects, serving only as the enterprise-level OID root shared by all Zhone platform MIBs. There is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe here since the module carries no pollable data itself; actual line status, port counters, or alarms would be exposed by the specific Zhone access-platform MIBs built on top of this root. This is an organizational registration module only.
