Category: Tripp Lite Power Management, UPS and Power Management
Description: Manages Tripp Lite 12-outlet UPS and power distribution units, monitoring load and battery status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TRIPPLITE-12X?
TRIPPLITE-12X is Tripp Lite's vendor MIB for their PowerAlert-managed UPS and power distribution products, exemplified by a 12-outlet model, providing remote management and notification configuration objects. Based on its sample objects it exposes contact/notification configuration: email contact lists (tlPAEmailContactsTable) and SNMP trap-receiver contact lists (tlPASnmpContactsTable), alongside vendor enumeration objects for supported host operating systems (tlOperatingSystems). While the broader Tripp Lite PowerAlert MIB family monitors UPS hardware status such as battery charge, load percentage, and runtime remaining, this excerpt centers on the alerting/contact configuration side, letting administrators ensure the right people/systems receive UPS fault and power-event notifications. It depends on standard RowStatus table-management conventions for adding/removing contacts. It is typically deployed wherever Tripp Lite UPS/PDU units protect server rooms or wiring closets and IT staff need email or SNMP-trap alerting configured for power events. Engineers can download the TRIPPLITE-12X file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TRIPPLITE-12X. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Tripp Lite UPS
- Tripp Lite power distribution unit (PDU)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would populate tlPAEmailContactsTable with entries (tlPAEmailContactName, tlPAEmailContactAddress) so on-call staff get emailed on a UPS power event, and similarly populate tlPASnmpContactsTable so an NMS receives SNMP trap notifications. Checking tlPAEmailContactRowStatus confirms whether a contact entry is active versus provisioned-but-disabled. tlPANumberOfSnmpContacts and tlPANumberOfEmailContacts give a quick count to verify all expected recipients are configured before a maintenance window.
What Can Be Monitored
- configured email alert contacts
- configured SNMP trap contacts
- contact entry status
- number of configured email/SNMP contacts
