Module: TIMETRA-SUBSCRIBER-MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-SUBSCRIBER-MGMT-MIB::tmnxSubAleEncapOffset

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.33.1.93.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: The value of tmnxSubAleEncapOffset indicates the number of bytes added to or subtracted from the packet size while performing rate calculations, in order to take into account the encapsulation overhead in the DSL Access Loop.

A positive number indicates that bytes are added to, a negative number indicates that bytes are subtracted from the actual packet size.

What is tmnxSubAleEncapOffset?

This OID stores a number (positive or negative) representing extra bytes added to or removed from packet size calculations to account for DSL (telephone line internet) overhead. This value ensures rate-limiting calculations accurately reflect true network usage. An ISP would set this when configuring DSL customer accounts to ensure bandwidth billing and speed limits are fair and account for the extra protocol layers DSL requires.
