Description: TIMETRA-LOCAL-USER-DB-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TIMETRA-LOCAL-USER-DB-MIB?

TIMETRA-LOCAL-USER-DB-MIB is a Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent proprietary SNMP module for SR OS devices, defining configuration for the local subscriber/user database used in AAA workflows (e.g. broadband/WLAN gateway authentication) rather than a central RADIUS server. It exposes management/configuration data: named user database instances, their administrative state, description, and DHCP-option matching rules used to look up subscriber records locally. Monitoring focus is primarily configuration and administrative-state health of each local user database rather than hardware; an admin can confirm a database is administratively up and track when its definition last changed. It commonly works alongside TIMETRA-RADIUS-MIB and subscriber-management MIBs as an alternative or supplement to external AAA servers. It is deployed on Nokia 7750/7450 broadband network gateways and similar edge routers handling subscriber authentication via the TIMETRA-LOCAL-USER-DB-MIB MIB.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-LOCAL-USER-DB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750/7450 SROS broadband network gateways
  • SROS edge/subscriber-management routers

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls tmnxLocalUserDbTable/tmnxLocalUserDbEntry to check tmnxLocUsrDbAdminState for each named database (tmnxLocUsrDbUserDatabaseName) and confirm it is administratively enabled. The tmnxLocUsrDbMatchTypeDhcp1 through Dhcp4 objects show which DHCP options are configured for subscriber lookup, useful when troubleshooting why a client's DHCP request isn't matching an expected local user record. Checking tmnxLocUsrDbLastChangeTime against a support ticket timestamp helps correlate authentication failures with a recent configuration change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • local user database administrative state
  • DHCP option match-type configuration
  • database description/purpose
  • last configuration change time
