Description: MIB for Witness Systems workforce management and call-recording platforms, defining a generic alarm trap carrying severity, timestamp, body, and token for system fault notifications
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is WITS-TRAP-MIB?
WITS-TRAP-MIB is a Witness Systems MIB dedicated to defining a generic SNMP trap structure used across the company's workforce management and call-recording product lines, including ContactStore. Rather than exposing polled data tables, it standardizes a single alarm notification carrying a severity level, timestamp, free-text body, and identifying token, used to signal fault conditions from the platform. Its role in monitoring hardware/software status is indirect but important: it is the transport mechanism through which the health and alarm objects defined in related MIBs (such as witscsMajorAlarms or witscsHealth) get pushed proactively to a network management station rather than only being discoverable via polling. It clearly depends on companion product MIBs like WITS-CS-MIB and WITS-CSCM-MIB, which define the polled counters that these traps report on. It is deployed alongside Witness Systems/Verint recording and workforce management servers, received by enterprise trap collectors or NMS platforms. Engineers can download the WITS-TRAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WITS-TRAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

- Witness Systems / Verint recording and workforce management platform
Monitoring Examples
This module has no polled data objects of its own (sample_objects is empty) — it defines only a generic trap PDU, so there is no runtime monitoring table to walk. In practice, an NMS would register to receive this trap and parse its severity, timestamp, and body fields to determine what alarm condition (e.g., a major alarm on a ContactStore) triggered it. Because it carries a free-text body and token rather than structured varbinds, downstream alerting typically relies on string matching or the accompanying token to route the notification.
