Category: DASAN Networks SLE OLT Management
Description: Manages DASAN Networks SLE OLT redundancy configuration, failover groups, and switchover state.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SLE-RED-MIB?
SLE-RED-MIB manages active/standby redundancy on DASAN Networks' SLE OLT broadband access platform, controlling failover groups and switchover state between redundant control or line cards. It belongs to the high-availability/system-resiliency category within fiber broadband access technology. Its monitoring emphasis is squarely on hardware/software resiliency status: which unit in a redundancy group is currently active versus standby, and whether a switchover has occurred, which is a key signal for detecting a card failure or unplanned failover event that could briefly disrupt subscriber service. It depends on the broader SLE OLT system/chassis MIB for card and slot context needed to identify redundancy group members. It is deployed on DASAN/Hanasoft OLT chassis configured with redundant control cards for high-availability broadband access service. Engineers can download the SLE-RED-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SLE-RED-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- DASAN Networks/Hanasoft SLE OLT broadband access chassis
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll the redundancy group's active/standby role for each card to confirm the expected unit is active, and watch for a switchover event indicating the previously active card failed or was manually taken offline. Tracking switchover history helps correlate a brief subscriber service interruption with a redundancy failover rather than a wider outage. An unexpected or repeated switchover between units would point to instability on the previously active control card warranting hardware inspection.
What Can Be Monitored
- active/standby role per card
- redundancy group configuration
- switchover event occurrence
- failover status
