What Is SLE-TC-MIB?
SLE-TC-MIB is a textual-conventions module associated with Siemens AG "SLE" definitions that is reused as a foundation for DASAN-branded OLT (Optical Line Terminal) MIB modules, situating it in the passive-optical-networking/broadband-access equipment space. Rather than exposing operational counters itself, it defines shared SNMP data types (enumerations, string formats, index types) that other DASAN OLT MIBs import to describe interfaces, environment, performance, configuration, and fault/trap data in a consistent way. Because it carries no runtime objects of its own, it is not used directly to monitor uptime, temperature, CPU/memory load, power/fan health, disk, or process status — those are exposed by the MIB modules that import these conventions. It is a dependency module: any DASAN OLT MIB that imports SLE-TC-MIB relies on it compiling correctly before the dependent module's objects can be loaded. In practice it is loaded automatically by an SNMP manager or MIB compiler as a prerequisite whenever DASAN OLT device MIBs are polled, and engineers who go searching for the SLE-TC-MIB MIB file will typically find it distributed together with those dependent DASAN modules rather than on its own.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SLE-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- DASAN OLT (optical line terminal) equipment
- textual-convention module used as a dependency, not queried directly
Monitoring Examples
SLE-TC-MIB has no sample_objects and, as a pure textual-conventions module, defines no runtime data objects (no tables, scalars, or traps) — there is nothing to poll on the device for this module by itself. It exists solely so that other DASAN OLT MIB modules can import its type definitions. Any concrete monitoring scenario (e.g., ONT/OLT port status) would be implemented in the dependent MIBs, not here.
