Description: Defines the Dasan Co., Ltd. enterprise OID structure and SMI registration hierarchy.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DASAN-SMI?
DASAN-SMI is the Structure of Management Information module for Dasan Co., Ltd. (Dasan Zhone, a broadband access equipment vendor), defining the top-level enterprise OID hierarchy, including the dsShe node, under which Dasan's product-specific MIBs register their management objects. It belongs to the broadband access/carrier Ethernet equipment category and, as an SMI module, contains organizational OID assignments rather than pollable instance data. Anyone setting up SNMP polling for Dasan equipment needs the DASAN-SMI MIB file compiled first, since dependent product MIBs reference the OID nodes it establishes. It exposes no interface counters, environmental sensors, or fault traps of its own, so it cannot directly reveal hardware or software status such as uptime, temperature, or CPU load. Its role is as a dependency: Dasan product MIBs covering shelf/chassis (dsShe) and other access equipment build their management trees on top of this root. It is deployed only as a compile-time dependency wherever Dasan broadband access or Ethernet aggregation equipment is SNMP-managed.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DASAN-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Dasan (Dasan Zhone) broadband access and Ethernet aggregation equipment
Monitoring Examples
The dsShe node establishes an OID subtree presumably used for shelf/chassis-level object registration in Dasan equipment, but this module itself defines no instance-level objects to poll. There is no concrete monitoring scenario for this module directly; actual shelf status, port counters, or alarms would be exposed by Dasan product MIBs registered beneath the dsShe and related nodes. This module is organizational scaffolding rather than a data source.
