Description: Raisecom optical transceiver monitoring MIB for reading SFP/SFP+ media type, optical power, and alarm thresholds on Raisecom network device interfaces

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RAISECOM-OPTICAL-TRANSCEIVER-MIB?

RAISECOM-OPTICAL-TRANSCEIVER-MIB is a Raisecom vendor MIB providing Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) for SFP/SFP+ optical transceivers installed in Raisecom network devices, exposing transceiver identity and real-time optical health parameters. It surfaces per-interface transceiver inventory data (type, connector type, media type, vendor name/part number/serial number) alongside global controls for notifications, DDM, password checking, and a configurable polling interval. This is a hardware-health monitoring MIB focused on optical-interface status: it identifies which SFP module is installed in each port and, via DDM, watches for optical power, temperature, voltage, or bias-current drifting outside safe thresholds, a leading indicator of a failing transceiver or degrading fiber link before a hard outage occurs. It relies on the standard SFF-8472 Digital Diagnostic Monitoring specification for the underlying optical measurements it reports. It is typically deployed on Raisecom carrier/access switches, media converters, and PON equipment where admins need early warning of optical-layer degradation, relying on RAISECOM-OPTICAL-TRANSCEIVER-MIB SNMP monitoring of DDM parameters.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RAISECOM-OPTICAL-TRANSCEIVER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Raisecom metro/access Ethernet switch or media converter
  • Raisecom PON/optical network equipment with SFP/SFP+ transceiver slots

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll raisecomOpticalTransceiverInfoTable/raisecomOpticalTransceiverInfoEntry to read raisecomOpticalTransceiverVendorName, raisecomOpticalTransceiverVendorPN, and raisecomOpticalTransceiverVendorSN to confirm which SFP is installed in a given port, and raisecomOpticalTransceiverType/raisecomOpticalTransceiverMediaType to verify it matches the expected fiber type. Enabling raisecomOpticalTransceiverDDMEnable and setting raisecomOpticalTransceiverPollInterval lets the device periodically sample optical power/temperature so a slowly dimming laser or rising receive-power deficit can be caught before the link drops. raisecomOpticalTransceiverNotifyEnable controls whether a trap fires when a DDM threshold is crossed.

What Can Be Monitored

  • installed transceiver vendor/part/serial number
  • transceiver type and media type (connector/fiber type)
  • DDM optical power/temperature/voltage thresholds (via DDM enable)
  • DDM polling interval
  • transceiver alarm notifications
