Description: Raisecom PPPoE intermediate agent (PPPoE+) MIB for per-port circuit-ID string configuration and relay option enable/disable on Raisecom access switches
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is RAISECOM-PPPOEAGENT-MIB?
RAISECOM-PPPOEAGENT-MIB is a Raisecom vendor MIB for the PPPoE Intermediate Agent (PPPoE+) feature on Raisecom access and aggregation switches, used in broadband access networks to insert subscriber-identifying circuit-ID information into PPPoE discovery packets. It exposes configuration data (per-port attach strings, circuit-ID format, remote-ID type/format, overwrite and trust settings) alongside statistics counters tracking PPPoE agent activity per port. From a monitoring standpoint it is primarily a software/configuration-status MIB: administrators check whether PPPoE+ insertion is enabled per port, which circuit-ID/remote-ID format is applied, and whether statistics counters are incrementing as expected to confirm the feature is actively processing subscriber sessions, rather than reporting hardware health. It is a Raisecom-specific extension with no equivalent IETF-standard PPPoE MIB, and it complements standard IF-MIB interface counters for the same ports. It is typically deployed on Raisecom DSL/Ethernet access switches acting as a PPPoE relay between subscriber CPE and a broadband remote access server (BRAS). Engineers can download the RAISECOM-PPPOEAGENT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RAISECOM-PPPOEAGENT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Raisecom Ethernet/DSL access switch
- Raisecom broadband aggregation switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll rcPPPoEAgentConfigTable/rcPPPoEAgentConfigEntry to check rcPPPoEAgentConfigPortEnable and rcPPPoEAgentConfigCircuitIDInfo on a subscriber-facing port, confirming PPPoE+ insertion is on and using the expected circuit-ID format before troubleshooting an authentication failure at the BRAS. Comparing rcPPPoEAgentConfigRemoteIDType and rcPPPoEAgentConfigRemoteIDFormat against the BRAS's expected format would reveal a misconfiguration causing sessions to be rejected. Polling rcPPPoEAgentStatisticsTable/rcPPPoEAgentStatisticsEntry over time shows whether discovery packets are actually being tagged on that port, and rcPPPoEAgentStatisticsReset clears counters after a fix to verify the anomaly stops recurring.
What Can Be Monitored
- PPPoE+ per-port enable state
- circuit-ID attach string
- remote-ID type and format
- port trust setting
- PPPoE agent statistics counters
