Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PDN-REACHDSL-MIB?

PDN-REACHDSL-MIB is Paradyne's vendor-specific MIB for managing ReachDSL, an extended-reach ADSL variant, covering line configuration and Spectrum Management parameters on Paradyne DSL customer-premises and central-office equipment. It exposes DSL line configuration data such as loop length, maximum transmit power for both the ATU-C (central office) and ATU-R (remote/customer) ends, quad-mode setting, and attainable transmit rate, alongside a spectrum-management zone/selection setting. Its monitoring value is centered on line/software configuration status rather than classic hardware sensors: reachDSLSpectrumMgmtAtucMaxTxRate and the loop-length/max-tx-power fields let an operator confirm a DSL line is achieving its expected attainable rate given its loop-qualification parameters, useful for diagnosing underperforming DSL circuits. It does not show explicit dependency on other MIBs in the available objects, though it likely complements the standard ADSL-LINE-MIB conventions common to DSL management. It is typically deployed by telecom carriers or CPE providers managing ReachDSL-based broadband access lines extending service reach beyond standard ADSL's distance limits. Engineers can download the PDN-REACHDSL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PDN-REACHDSL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Paradyne ReachDSL modem/CPE and central-office DSL equipment

Monitoring Examples

An admin would read reachDSLSpectrumMgmtConfTable entries (reachDSLSpectrumMgmtConfEWL, reachDSLSpectrumMgmtConfLoopLength) to confirm the configured loop length matches the physical circuit, then check reachDSLSpectrumMgmtConfAtucMaxTxPower/reachDSLSpectrumMgmtConfAturMaxTxPower to verify transmit power settings at each end. reachDSLSpectrumMgmtLineInfoTable's reachDSLSpectrumMgmtAtucMaxTxRate reveals the actual attainable rate the line achieved, letting the operator spot a line underperforming relative to its loop-length-qualified expectation. reachDSLSpectrumMgmtSelection and reachDSLSpectrumMgmtZone indicate which spectrum management profile/zone is applied, useful when troubleshooting cross-talk or regulatory compliance issues on a DSL line.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured loop length
  • ATU-C/ATU-R max transmit power
  • attainable transmit rate
  • spectrum management zone/selection
  • quad mode setting
