What Is ADSL-TC-MIB?
ADSL-TC-MIB is an IETF standards-track textual-conventions module that supports the family of ADSL line-management MIBs, defining reusable data types such as ADSL line-coding enumerations rather than belonging to any single vendor's technology. It does not expose any object instances of its own; instead it supplies shared SYNTAX definitions (textual conventions) that other MIBs, such as ADSL-LINE-MIB, import to represent line coding and related performance-history counters consistently. Because it carries no runtime objects, it has no direct role in reporting hardware or software status—uptime, temperature, or similar are reported by the MIBs that use these conventions, not by this module itself. It is an explicit dependency of other ADSL-related MIBs (e.g., ADSL-LINE-MIB) and is only meaningful when loaded alongside them. It is typically deployed as a supporting/imported module on DSL access multiplexers (DSLAMs) and ADSL customer modems from any vendor implementing standard ADSL SNMP instrumentation. Vendors implementing ADSL-LINE-MIB support are still required to bundle the ADSL-TC-MIB MIB in their SNMP agent, since the line-coding textual conventions it defines are referenced directly by those data-bearing tables.

Monitoring Examples
ADSL-TC-MIB itself defines no monitorable objects—it is a pure conformance/type-definition module supplying the line-coding textual convention consumed by ADSL-LINE-MIB tables. An administrator would never poll this MIB directly; instead, tools resolve its textual conventions when decoding values in tables defined by the MIBs that import it. Honestly, there is no realistic monitoring scenario tied to this module in isolation.
