Category: Cable/DOCSIS

Description: Manages the Cisco/Scientific-Atlanta GX2 Dual DRR2X dual-port downstream RF receiver card in HFC optical node deployments.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is OMNI-gx2dualdrr2x-MIB?

OMNI-gx2dualdrr2x-MIB is a legacy proprietary MIB (built on GX2HFC-MIB/NLSBBN-TRAPS-MIB) reporting analog/digital telemetry for the gx2dualdrr2x HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coax) module — a dual optical receiver. Its analog table records per-parameter (e.g., received optical power 1/2) label, unit of measure, major/minor high/low thresholds, current value, state flag, min/max recorded value, and alarm state, with companion digital-status and factory tables. As a status/performance MIB it lets an administrator watch received optical power against alarm thresholds on this legacy HFC dual-receiver module. It is deployed on legacy HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coax) dual optical-receiver equipment. Engineers can download the OMNI-gx2dualdrr2x-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in OMNI-gx2dualdrr2x-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • General Instrument OmniStar GX2 HFC headend/optical node (gx2dualdrr2x dual optical receiver module)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks dualdrr2xcurrentValueRecdOptPwr1 against dualdrr2xminorLowRecdOptPwr1 to catch a degrading optical receiver on this legacy HFC module.

What Can Be Monitored

  • received optical power against alarm thresholds
