What Is DECHUB900-ERPTR-MIB-V3-0?
DECHUB900-ERPTR-MIB-V3-0 is a legacy Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) MIB for managing Ethernet repeater modules installed in the DEC HUB 900 series modular chassis, an early enterprise wiring-closet hub/repeater system. It exposes repeater group and port data such as per-port event counters, repeater error counts, auto-partitioning algorithm settings, and jabber protection configuration. It is used mainly to monitor the hardware health of repeater modules, tracking port event counts, error rates, and health-status text changes that reveal failing ports or segments rather than modern CPU/memory metrics. As a repeater extension MIB it builds on the IETF Repeater MIB framework and DEC's own enterprise MIB tree ("dec", "ema"). Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll erptrGroupTable/erptrGroupEntry (indexed by erptrGroupIndex) alongside erptrTotalPorts and erptrTotalPortEvents to see how many ports are active and how often port state changes such as link transitions or auto-partitioning occur on a given repeater module. A rising erptrTotalRptrErrors or erptrHealthTextChanges count would indicate a failing NIC, bad cabling, or excessive collisions on the segment. Checking erptrJabberProtectionAdminStatus confirms whether the module is configured to auto-disable ports that are jabbering, protecting the rest of the segment from a faulty station.

The repeater jams/garbles those packets whose destination addresses do not appear in the port's authorized address list. The length of the garbled packet is the same as the length of the original packet. Packets with multicast or broadcast destination addresses are not affected by eavesdrop prevention. If no authorized addresses are assigned to this port in erptrSecurityPortAddrTable when this object equals enabled(1), an implementation may optionally enforce eavesdrop prevention based upon the (dynamically changing) last source address seen (as indicated by rptrAddrTrackLastSourceAddr or rptrAddrTrackNewLastSrcAddress). Otherwise, an implementation may simply not actively enforce eavesdrop prevention on a port with no assigned authorized addresses.
