Description: The jabber protection function automatically disables a port whenever it detects a very long input event (or jabber) on that port. Once disabled, the port will neither transmit nor receive data. The rptrOperStatus object for such a port will report notOperational(2). The erptrPortPartitionReason for such a port will report jabberAndMgmtPart(7). The port will remain in this state until the port's rptrPortAdminStatus object is set to enabled(1).
Setting this object to enabled(1) enables the jabber protection function on all manageable repeater ports. Setting this object to disabled(2) disables the jabber protection function on all manageable repeater ports.
Some implementations may not support setting this object to all defined enumerated values. A badValue error is returned if an attempt is made to set this object to an unsupported value.
Note: The state of this object is preserved when the repeater undergoes a power-up reset.
What is erptrJabberProtectionAdminStatus?
Setting this to enabled(1) turns on jabber protection across all manageable ports, so any port emitting an abnormally long transmission gets automatically disabled (its partition reason reports jabberAndMgmtPart); setting it to disabled(2) turns that protection off for the whole repeater. A jabbering port stays down until its rptrPortAdminStatus is manually re-enabled.
