Description: Configures SNMP agent parameters, communities, users, and notification targets on Cisco Small Business devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCOSB-SNMP-MIB?

CISCOSB-SNMP-MIB is a Cisco Small Business (Radlan-based firmware) proprietary MIB extending standard SNMPv3 support with vendor-specific targeting and community-mapping objects. Its objects cover target-params/notify-filter testing levels, the SNMP engine ID, an IPv3-address-to-index mapping table, a target-address extension table (magic index), an inet-to-engine-ID table (address type/address, engine ID, status), an SNMP-request managed-MRID table, a global SNMP-enable flag, and an inet-aware community table (management-station address type). As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm SNMPv3 engine ID and community/target mapping on a Cisco Small Business device. It is deployed on Cisco Small Business managed switches. Engineers can download the CISCOSB-SNMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-SNMP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Small Business managed switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks rlSnmpEngineID and rndCommunityInetTable to confirm SNMPv3 engine identity and community mapping on a Cisco Small Business switch.
