Category: Cisco Devices, SNA and Legacy Protocols, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares agent capability for the Cisco ITP SS7 signaling point MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-ITP-SP-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-ITP-SP-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that declares which parts of the CISCO-ITP-SP-MIB a particular agent implementation supports. It belongs to the Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP) SS7 signaling product family and does not itself define any runtime data objects. As a conformance-only module it has no role in monitoring hardware or software status directly — it exists purely so that an NMS can determine implementation compliance and feature support for the companion CISCO-ITP-SP-MIB. Its only real dependency is on CISCO-ITP-SP-MIB, whose object groups it references. It is used internally by SNMP management tools during MIB compliance checks, not for day-to-day operational polling. Engineers can download the CISCO-ITP-SP-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ITP-SP-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP)

Monitoring Examples

This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance statement with no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty), so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it simply enumerates which groups of CISCO-ITP-SP-MIB a given Cisco ITP agent implements.
