Description: Manages Cisco Small Business switch event logging, SNMP traps, and syslog notification configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCOSB-EVENTS-MIB?

CISCOSB-EVENTS-MIB is a Cisco Small Business (Radlan-based firmware) proprietary MIB implementing Auto Smart Port, which auto-detects connected device types (phone, AP, switch) on a port and applies a matching configuration macro. Its objects cover global admin/operational status, last detected voice-VLAN status/ID, learning protocols, a device-types table (type, admin status, associated macro, revert-to-default settings, built-in macro flag), a macro-parameters table (name, order, value), and a per-port table (port, status, detected type, persistency). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm which Auto Smart Port macro was applied to a port after a device was detected. It is deployed on Cisco Small Business managed switches. Engineers can download the CISCOSB-EVENTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-EVENTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Small Business managed switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks rlAutoSmartPortLastVoiceVlanStatus to confirm an IP phone was correctly auto-detected and assigned to the voice VLAN on a Cisco Small Business switch port.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Auto Smart Port detection and applied macro per port
