What Is CISCO-LWAPP-RRM-MIB?

CISCO-LWAPP-RRM-MIB is a Cisco enterprise MIB for wireless LAN controllers that implements Radio Resource Management (RRM), the automated system that tunes channel assignment, transmit power, and interference avoidance across a fleet of Cisco lightweight access points. It exposes per-radio-type parameters covering coverage hole detection (CHD), voice and data packet thresholds, RSSI thresholds, and dynamic channel assignment (DCA) width settings. Rather than tracking physical component faults, it lets administrators monitor the software-driven RF tuning state of the WLAN, revealing whether voice or data traffic is triggering coverage-hole conditions or whether channel width settings are causing interference and degraded throughput. It is one of a family of related CISCO-LWAPP-* MIBs that together describe the LWAPP controller-to-AP architecture. It is deployed in enterprise and campus Wi-Fi networks running Cisco centralized wireless LAN controllers where RF conditions need continuous automated adjustment. Engineers can download the CISCO-LWAPP-RRM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Reviewing clrRrmParametersDcaChannelWidth alongside clrRrmParametersChdEnable would clarify whether dynamic channel assignment and coverage-hole detection are active and consistently configured. A radio reporting RSSI values consistently below its configured threshold would flag a coverage gap needing additional access points or power adjustment.
