Description: MIB for WebSitePulse external monitoring service, defining SNMP trap objects that carry alert type, target domain, server type, port, and status for monitored web resources
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is WEBSITEPULSE-NOTIFY-MIB?
WEBSITEPULSE-NOTIFY-MIB is a service-level MIB from WebSitePulse, a third-party external website and service uptime-monitoring provider, rather than a hardware vendor module. It defines SNMP trap/notification objects that carry alert details for monitored web resources, such as alert type, target domain/URL, server type, port, response time, and downtime. Instead of hardware sensors, its 'health monitoring' role is at the software/service level, reporting whether a monitored website or server is reachable, how fast it responds, and how long it has been down. It has no dependency on standard hardware MIBs since it is a synthetic external-monitoring trap definition, standing largely on its own. It is typically consumed by an NMS or trap receiver that ingests WebSitePulse's cloud-based probing alerts so admins are notified the moment an external website or server outage or slowdown is detected. Engineers can download the WEBSITEPULSE-NOTIFY-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WEBSITEPULSE-NOTIFY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- external website/server monitoring probe (WebSitePulse SaaS service)
- vendor-neutral with respect to the monitored target - can represent any web server or network-facing device being probed
Monitoring Examples
A WebSitePulseTraps notification carries objects like WebSitePulseDomain, WebSitePulseUrl, WebSitePulseStatus, WebSitePulseResponseTime, and WebSitePulseDowntime. An admin's trap receiver would see WebSitePulseStatus flip from OK to an alert state and WebSitePulseResponseTime spike or WebSitePulseDowntime accumulate, indicating the monitored target identified by WebSitePulseTargetLabel/WebSitePulseDomain is slow or unreachable. WebSitePulseServerType and WebSitePulsePort help pinpoint which service on the target failed, and WebSitePulseSubscriberNames indicates who should be notified.
What Can Be Monitored
- website/server up-down status
- HTTP response time
- downtime duration
- alert type/severity
- monitored URL/domain/port
- target server type
