Description: MIB for security unit management in Cisco UCS, covering security hardware presence, operability, and power state on UCS servers and chassis
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-SECURITY-MIB?
CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-SECURITY-MIB is part of the Cisco UCS Manager MIB suite and covers security unit hardware -- physical security/trust modules installed in UCS servers or chassis -- reporting their presence, model, part number, location, and operational state. It exposes hardware inventory and health objects including operState, operability, and operQualifierReason, which together describe whether the unit is functioning normally or has a fault condition. This is a hardware-status MIB used to monitor whether a security hardware component is present, powered, and operable, flagging degraded or failed units that could affect platform trust/attestation features. It shares the general UCS equipment-inventory object model used by other hardware MIBs (memory, power, fan). It is deployed for hardware health monitoring in UCS environments where hardware-based security/trust features are enabled, and administrators rely on the CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-SECURITY-MIB MIB to track that health.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-SECURITY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco UCS blade servers
- Cisco UCS rack servers
- Cisco UCS chassis
Monitoring Examples
cucsSecurityUnitTable/cucsSecurityUnitEntry exposes cucsSecurityUnitOperState, cucsSecurityUnitOperability, and cucsSecurityUnitOperQualifierReason, letting an admin see at a glance whether a server's security hardware unit is operable or has entered a fault state. cucsSecurityUnitModel and cucsSecurityUnitPartNumber help identify the exact component so a failed unit can be matched to a replacement part.
What Can Be Monitored
- security unit operational state
- operability/fault status
- operational qualifier/reason for faults
- unit model and part number
- unit power state
