What Is ACD-TWAMP-GEN-MIB?
ACD-TWAMP-GEN-MIB is an Accedian Networks-specific MIB for the TWAMP (Two-Way Active Measurement Protocol) Generator function on Accedian MetroNID network performance-monitoring devices, used to actively measure round-trip delay, jitter, and packet loss across a network path. It exposes per-test-session result data organized in a results table, including packet counters and two-way delay statistics, plus notification/conformance groups for reporting test events. Rather than reporting hardware health directly, this MIB's core purpose is software-level active performance monitoring: an operator uses it to confirm the TWAMP measurement function is producing valid, current results (via the delay-valid flag) and to detect network performance degradation via delay/jitter trend data. It depends conceptually on the IETF TWAMP protocol standard (RFC 5357) for its measurement methodology, though this module defines Accedian's own MIB representation of the results. Typical deployment context is a carrier or enterprise service-assurance deployment using Accedian MetroNID demarcation devices to continuously verify SLA-relevant delay/jitter across a WAN or metro Ethernet path. Engineers can download the ACD-TWAMP-GEN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll acdTwampGenResultTable/acdTwampGenResultEntry, indexed by acdTwampGenResultID, checking acdTwampGenResultTwoWayDelayValid to confirm the current measurement period produced trustworthy data before reading acdTwampGenResultTwoWayDelayInstValue and acdTwampGenResultTwoWayDelayCurrMinValue for round-trip delay statistics. acdTwampGenResultCurrTxPacketCount versus acdTwampGenResultCurrRxPacketCount reveals packet loss on the measured path if the received count falls short of transmitted. A sustained rise in the two-way delay values relative to baseline would indicate network congestion or a routing change degrading the monitored circuit's performance.
