This OID stores the average one-way delay calculated from all samples collected from the far end, expressed in microseconds. A network engineer tracks this to monitor return-path performance and compare asymmetry between near and far end delays over time. A value of 8000 microseconds (8 ms) is the arithmetic mean of all far-end delay measurements and shows a 1.5 ms asymmetry from the near end.
