Category: Ubiquoss Enterprise Networking

Description: Manages Ubiquoss IP routing configuration, address management, and IP forwarding table entries.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is UBQS-IP-MIB?

UBQS-IP-MIB is a Ubiquoss enterprise MIB providing IP-layer management objects for Ubiquoss switches and access devices, covering IP routing/address configuration together with an embedded SNMP-controlled ping utility. It exposes objects for IP forwarding-table and address management (ubiIpMIBObjects) alongside a ping subsystem (ubiPingMIBObjects, ubiPingGlobal, ubiPingSend) that lets the device originate ICMP echo tests on command. It is used to monitor IP configuration correctness and network reachability — an operator triggers ubiPingSend and reads back the results to confirm whether a remote host or gateway is reachable from the device, functioning as a lightweight software-level connectivity health check rather than a physical hardware sensor. It likely relies on standard IP-MIB (RFC 4293) conventions for its base IP-addressing concepts even though it defines its own enterprise objects. It is typically deployed on Ubiquoss switches/routers in service-provider or enterprise access networks where remote reachability diagnostics via SNMP are useful. Engineers can download the UBQS-IP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-IP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquoss switches/access routers

Monitoring Examples

An operator would configure and trigger a test via ubiPingSend under ubiPingGlobal, specifying a target address, then poll the resulting ping status/statistics to determine round-trip success; repeated failures indicate an IP routing or connectivity fault reachable from that Ubiquoss device. Objects under ubiIpMIBObjects would separately be polled to confirm the device's IP address and forwarding-table configuration matches intended provisioning.

What Can Be Monitored

  • IP address/forwarding configuration
  • SNMP-triggered ping test execution
  • ping reachability results
  • IP routing table entries
