What Is UBQS-SMI?
UBQS-SMI defines the Structure of Management Information (SMI) for Ubiquoss, establishing the enterprise OID hierarchy under which all Ubiquoss-branded MIB modules (for its Ethernet access switches and fiber broadband equipment) are registered. As an SMI module it contains no operational data objects itself; it purely lays out the naming tree that downstream UBQS MIBs use to expose interface, environment, performance, configuration, and fault/trap information. Consequently it plays no direct role in reporting uptime, temperature, CPU/memory load, power/fan health, or software version — those metrics live in the specific UBQS product MIBs that register under this tree. Every Ubiquoss MIB module has a structural dependency on this SMI module, so resolving any UBQS-SMI OID under the Ubiquoss enterprise branch requires this module to be loaded first. It functions purely as a prerequisite/definitions file loaded by an SNMP manager when managing Ubiquoss access-network equipment.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ubiquoss product line, entire range (Ethernet access switches and fiber broadband equipment) (base enterprise OID registration, no data objects)
Monitoring Examples
UBQS-SMI has no sample_objects; it is limited to defining the top-level enterprise OID node(s) for Ubiquoss and contains no tables or scalars to poll. Any real monitoring (e.g., of switch ports or environment) happens in the Ubiquoss product MIBs that import this SMI definition, not in this module itself.

RFC description
Defines Ubiquoss Structure of Management Information and enterprise OID hierarchy for UBQS MIBs.
Start monitoring Ubiquoss product line, entire range (Ethernet access switches and fiber broadband equipment) (base enterprise OID registration, no data objects) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
