Category: Ubiquoss Enterprise Networking

Description: Manages Ubiquoss system-level configuration including device identity, NTP, and management settings.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is UBQS-SYSTEM-MIB?

UBQS-SYSTEM-MIB is a Ubiquoss vendor MIB providing general system-level information and configuration for their network devices, functioning as the base identity/configuration MIB for the product line. It exposes data such as device identity, NTP/time-zone configuration, and pointers to redundancy state, serving as the general system-info counterpart to the more specialized environmental and redundancy MIBs. Its monitoring relevance includes confirming system identity and clock configuration and cross-referencing current redundancy role via ubiSysRedundancy, which is useful for verifying overall device software/configuration state during troubleshooting. It is closely related to UBQS-ENVMON-MIB and UBQS-REDUNDANCY-MIB within the same vendor MIB family, sharing the ubiSystemMIBObjects notification/conformance conventions. It is deployed across Ubiquoss switches, OLTs, and access appliances as the baseline system-management MIB alongside the specialized ones. Engineers can download the UBQS-SYSTEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-SYSTEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquoss switches
  • Ubiquoss OLT/access network appliances

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would read ubiSysInfo for device identity/version details and ubiSysTimeZone to confirm correct time-zone configuration, both important for correlating log timestamps and trap timing across a fleet of devices. ubiSysRedundancy exposes the current redundancy state directly from the system MIB, letting an operator confirm active/standby role without querying the dedicated redundancy MIB. ubiSystemMIBNotificationPrefix and ubiSystemMIBConformance define the trap and compliance framework for system-level events.

What Can Be Monitored

  • device identity/system info
  • time zone/NTP configuration
  • redundancy role reference
  • system-level notifications
