Description: TIMETRA-SAS-OAM-TEST-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TIMETRA-SAS-OAM-TEST-MIB?

TIMETRA-SAS-OAM-TEST-MIB is an Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia) SR OS MIB for the SAS (Service Access Switch) product family, used to configure and provision OAM throughput/service-activation test profiles. It exposes a table of test-header profile objects covering committed information rate (CIR) adaptation, configured and operational CIR, test duration (hours/minutes/seconds), and frame size, alongside notification and conformance groups. This is software/service-level performance monitoring aimed at validating bandwidth SLAs: comparing the operational CIR achieved during a test against the configured target CIR reveals whether a service link is delivering its committed bandwidth, which is central to service-activation testing on access switches. It is closely related to, and part of the same Alcatel-Lucent Timetra family as, TIMETRA-OAM-TEST-MIB, sharing similar test-control conventions and depending on the vendor's broader service/SDP model. It is deployed on Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia) SAS 7210/7250-series service access switches in metro Ethernet and service-provider access networks. Engineers can download the TIMETRA-SAS-OAM-TEST-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-SAS-OAM-TEST-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia) SAS 7210/7250-series service access switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would configure a tmnxTestHdProfTable/tmnxTestHdProfEntry row -- setting tmnxTestHdProfCIR, tmnxTestHdProfCIRAdaptation, tmnxTestHdProfFrameSize, and tmnxTestHdProfDurHr/Min/Sec -- to define a throughput test profile, then poll tmnxTestHdProfOperCIR to see the actual achieved rate during the test. An tmnxTestHdProfOperCIR that falls short of the configured tmnxTestHdProfCIR would reveal that the service link is under-provisioned or experiencing congestion relative to its committed bandwidth.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured vs. operational committed information rate (CIR)
  • CIR adaptation setting
  • test duration (hours/minutes/seconds)
  • test frame size
  • test profile row status
