All MIBsSnetSwitch-MIB

Category: Ethernet and LAN Management

Description: Manages Snet network switch port configuration, VLAN assignment, and traffic statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SnetSwitch-MIB?

SnetSwitch-MIB is a legacy HP (NonStop/ServerNet heritage, enterprise OID 169) proprietary MIB reporting ServerNet fabric switch inventory and SAN mapping. Its objects cover total switch count (X and Y fabric switches counted separately), a refresh time and MIB revision, a switch-ID table (ID, type), a SAN-map table (port index, node type/state/domain/ID/name/fabric, manufacturing ID, part number, serial number), and trap-enable flags for link-alive, neighbor-change, threshold-error, and access-violation events. As a hardware/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm how many X/Y fabric ServerNet switches are present and their SAN node identification. It is deployed on HP NonStop ServerNet fabric infrastructure. Engineers can download the SnetSwitch-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SnetSwitch-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP NonStop ServerNet fabric infrastructure

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks snetSwitchTotal and snetSwitchSANMapTable to confirm expected X/Y fabric switch counts and SAN node mapping on an HP NonStop ServerNet fabric.

What Can Be Monitored
