Description: Manages Securicor WAN router multipoint link configuration and circuit aggregation.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SCA-MPLINK-MIB?
SCA-MPLINK-MIB is a Securicor/Intel-era vendor MIB (1997) for managing multipoint WAN links on Securicor SCANET routers, modeling logical "services" plus their LAN- and WAN-specific link parameters. It defines serviceTable (serviceName, serviceType, slot, plug, serviceState, byte/packet counters) as the top-level service inventory, lanTable for LAN-side addressing (ownSNPAAddress, scaNetSubnet, access masks), and wanTable/poolTable for WAN circuit state (actualCallState, actualCallDirection, callsPlaced/callsFailed counters, dataCompressionSwitch/State, queue thresholds, backup link/pool configuration). It exposes both configuration (compression, reverse-charge, time-cut policies) and operational counters (bytes/packets sent/received, call attempts/failures) for multipoint WAN circuit aggregation. Because it predates modern textual conventions (using RFC1155-SMI/RFC-1212 types), it is tied to legacy SCANET-based multipoint link hardware. It is deployed on Securicor WAN routers aggregating multiple point-to-point or dial circuits into pooled links, and administrators can download the SCA-MPLINK-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SCA-MPLINK-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Securicor SCANET multipoint WAN routers
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls wanEntry's actualCallState and callsFailed1 counter for a given serviceNumber3 to confirm a pooled WAN circuit is up(7) and not repeatedly failing; a rising callsFailed1 count alongside actualCallState reporting down(4) would indicate a multipoint link failing to establish, degrading the aggregated pool's capacity.
What Can Be Monitored
- service state and byte/packet counters
- WAN call state and direction
- calls placed/failed counters
- data compression switch/state
- circuit pool size and free links
