Category: DSL and Broadband Access, Synchronization

Description: Manages Quantum Bridge network timing synchronization source selection, clock quality, and BITS interface configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is QB-TIMING-MIB?

QB-TIMING-MIB is a Quantum Bridge Inc. proprietary MIB (built on QUANTUMBRIDGE-REG) managing network-clock timing for an OAS (Optical Access System). Its objects cover timing-mode admin/operational status, output mode, holdover control, source status, in/out line reference, and a port table (name, format, line coding, framing, cable length, impedance mode, operational status, in-operational status). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm which line reference is providing the network clock and its framing/impedance settings on a Quantum Bridge OAS platform. It is deployed on Quantum Bridge Inc. Optical Access System (OAS) platforms. Engineers can download the QB-TIMING-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in QB-TIMING-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Quantum Bridge Inc. Optical Access System (OAS) platforms

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks qbTimingSourceStatus and qbTimingInLineRef to confirm the active clock reference source on a Quantum Bridge OAS platform.

What Can Be Monitored

  • network clock reference source and line-timing configuration
