Category: DSL and Broadband Access, VLAN Management

Description: Manages Quantum Bridge VLAN configuration, port VLAN membership, and VLAN tagging on broadband access equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is QB-VLAN-MGMT-MIB?

QB-VLAN-MGMT-MIB is a Quantum Bridge Technologies proprietary MIB managing QB's proprietary VLAN capability, built on policing and thresholding rather than standard 802.1Q tagging, to provision and monitor administrator-defined VLANs. Its objects cover the next free VLAN index, total VLAN count, a last-update timestamp, and a configuration table (per VLAN) recording name, slot, and next-port assignment with row status. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm a QBVLAN's slot/port assignment and audit how many VLANs are currently provisioned. It is deployed on Quantum Bridge optical access/switching platforms. Engineers can download the QB-VLAN-MGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in QB-VLAN-MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Quantum Bridge Technologies optical access/switching platforms

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks qbVlanConfSlot and qbVlanConfNextPort for a QBVLAN to confirm its port assignment matches the intended service before troubleshooting a subscriber connectivity issue on a Quantum Bridge platform.

What Can Be Monitored

  • QBVLAN count and per-VLAN slot/port assignment
