qbTimingModeOperStatus

Module: QB-TIMING-MIB

OID (symbolic): QB-TIMING-MIB::qbTimingModeOperStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4323.2.11.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The object indicates the actual status of the timing of an OAS system. A value 'notOperational(6)' indicates that the shelf doesn't have operational timing equpment available. A value 'freerun(1) indicates the free-running timing mode. A value 'external(2)' indicates the external timing mode of the shelf. A value 'loop(3)' indicates the loop-timed timing mode of the shelf. A value 'holdoverMntc(4)' indicates the timing mode was intentionally switched to 'holdover' by setting 'qbTimingHooldover' to 'holdover'. A value 'holdoverAuto(5)' indicates the timing mode was intentionally switched due to hardware problems

What is qbTimingModeOperStatus?

This read-only object reports which timing mode the OAS system is actually running in, as opposed to the mode requested via qbTimingModeAdminStatus. A value of notOperational(6) flags that the shelf has no working timing equipment, while holdoverMntc(4) versus holdoverAuto(5) distinguishes an admin-initiated holdover switch from one triggered automatically by a hardware fault. For example, a technician polling this object after a BITS cable is unplugged and seeing holdoverAuto(5) confirms the system detected the loss on its own and fell back to holdover rather than being manually commanded there.
