qbTimingModeAdminStatus
Module: QB-TIMING-MIB
OID (symbolic): QB-TIMING-MIB::qbTimingModeAdminStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4323.2.11.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: The object is used to set the desired timing configuration of an OAS system. Setting this object to 'freerun(1)' depending on the installed TGS3 option, causes one of the following results: 1. If the board in the MAIN slot does not have the TGS3 card installed, the local oscillator on the board is used as the synchronization source. 2. If the board in the MAIN slot has the TGS3 card installed, the synchronization is derived from the TGS3 card. Setting this object to 'external(2)' selects the external BITS input as the timing source. Setting this object to 'loop(3)' causes the timing mode to switch loop-timed. When the object is set to 'loop', the 'qbTimingLoopInLineRef' must be set to an appropriate ifindex. The value holdover can not be set here. When qbTimingModeAdminStatus is loop(3), and you set the qbTimingHoldoverCtl to holdover, qbTimingModeAdminStatus will have a value of holdover
What is qbTimingModeAdminStatus?
This read-write object selects which timing source the OAS system's synchronization clock derives from: free-running local oscillator, an external BITS input, or loop-timed from a line interface. Setting it to loop(3) requires qbTimingInLineRef to already hold a valid ifIndex, and setting qbTimingHoldoverCtl to holdover while in external or loop mode causes this object's own value to shift automatically to holdover(8). For example, an admin migrating a shelf from a local oscillator to a BITS reference clock would set qbTimingModeAdminStatus to external(2) and then confirm the switch by polling qbTimingModeOperStatus.
